A fulcrum of thought

In honor of Philip Lewis.

Once rationality in youtha firm contentious paradox
dominion over thought took holdcontrariness considered bold
its bias maintained as if truthwhich only wisened age unlocks
a turn is taken in its wake
experience new crises flamedattempting now to synthesize
and bring rethought to values oldboth stories apt and fairly told
so certainty is lastly maimedto trust both thoughts is to be wise
